Dave Rattigan Headlines Comedy at the Shea

Saturday, March 6, Showtime is 8 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m.
The Shea Theater, 71 Avenue A, Turners Falls
Tickets are $15, Information at the Shea, 413-863-2281.

Dave Rattigan, who founded and performed on the first "Comedy at the Shea," returns to headline on March 6 with his talented comedy lineup that also includes Mike Cote, Maria Ciampa and Matt D.

Dave Rattigan Last year was a particularly noteworthy one for Rattigan. Already one of Boston's most sought-after comedians, he added "actor" to his resume with a part in a popular Olympia Sports commercial with fellow comedian Jimmy Dunn (who has also played the Shea) and Red Sox field reporter Heidi Watney (Rattigan plays a businessman who is kicked out of Dunn's cab in favor of Watney). He was also asked to judge in the September Boston Comedy Festival (in other years he's been a show host or performer), and was profiled in the national magazine The Comedians magazine. On Dec. 29, he hosted the annual dinner for the Lowell Spinners (Red Sox affiliate).

Mike Cote Impressive showings in the San Fransisco International Comedy Festival and Boston Comedy Festival let national comedy industry know what people in Boston were well aware of, that Mike Cote can charm audiences with the best in the business. He started as an actor, and has appeared on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives, Real Stories of the Highway Patrol, and on several commercials. These days, in addition to working the best clubs in the region, he's performing as part of a standup ensemble called, "What Men Think (Or Do They?)"

Maria Ciampa An alumna of Boston's Improv Asylum's Mainstage (and Smith College), Maria Ciampa has been writing and performing comedy for eight years.  She produces ImprovBoston's Women's Comedy Festival and was a 2009 stand up comedian in the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival. She performed her solo show, "Family Shmamily," for audiences in Boston and New York. She is a frequent performer in the "Five Funny Females," a standup show. She also enjoys rope swings over lakes, and cake.

Matt D. has been identified as a Boston comedian to watch following his finalist showing in the "North Shore Comedy Riots" in 2009 (at Giggles, one of the Boston's area's top clubs). He works top clubs in Boston including Mottley's and The Comedy Studio in Harvard Square, where he's scheduled to be the "Comic In Residence" later this year.

Tickets $15, available on-line at www.sheacomedy.com, and at the World Eye Bookshop, Main Street, Greenfield. Beer and wine will be served in the lobby before the show. Call the Shea at 413-863-2281.
